How does EmailOSINT compare with its alternatives?

The short answer

What it is: you paste one email address. EmailOSINT says it streams back accounts "across 100+ platforms", breach exposure, infostealer captures and an AI summary EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). These are the vendor's own claims; we have not tested them.

Is it free? Partly. The $0 plan shows linked accounts "Redacted" and breach results as "Counts only" EmailOSINT pricing page (saved 16 Oct 2026). Full unmasked results, infostealer results and export start with Pro at $29 a month EmailOSINT pricing page (saved 16 Oct 2026).

Is it legit? We can't give a verdict either way. The pages we read name no company behind it, and we found no independent review. Its legal pages exist, but we could not read them.

Best free alternatives: Max Intel's Email Lookup opens 30+ services pre-filled, with no signup. Holehe is open source Holehe README (checked 16 Oct 2026). Epieos has a free member plan Epieos pricing (checked 16 Oct 2026). Have I Been Pwned covers breaches HIBP FAQs (checked 16 Oct 2026). None of them hands you another person's password.

How we read EmailOSINT. Its pages load only with JavaScript, so our usual page reader could not open them. The site owner saved the homepage and pricing page from a browser at 17:55 UTC on 16 October 2026. Every EmailOSINT fact here comes from that saved text. The saved text does not keep the tick marks in the pricing grid, so we report only rows that contain words.

What is EmailOSINT and what does it return?

A one-box email profiler. EmailOSINT says it "turns a single email into a full digital profile: linked accounts, data breaches, Infostealer logs, and an AI synthesis of who's really behind it" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). Results stream in as they are found. The vendor's figures, as printed on its homepage EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026):

  • "100+" sources searched, such as Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, Spotify, Discord, Strava, Venmo and Duolingo.
  • "40B+" breach records, described as "curated breach corpora" plus "infostealer log feeds".
  • "<5s" average lookup time.
  • An AI summary on every search, with a risk score of low, medium or high and a one-line reason.

Who it is pitched at. The homepage lists six uses: cybersecurity, investigations, risk and compliance, law enforcement, fraud prevention, and legal and e-discovery EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). Its legal FAQ says the platform is "intended for lawful security research, fraud investigations, journalism, due diligence and law enforcement" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026).

What it says about your searches. "Free, unauthenticated lookups are not stored against an account." Signed-in users get a saved history. It adds: "We never sell or share search data" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). These are vendor statements we cannot check.

Is EmailOSINT free? Plans and prices in October 2026

There is a $0 plan, with masked results. The plans, as listed on 16 October 2026 EmailOSINT pricing page (saved 16 Oct 2026):

  • Free, $0 "/forever": AI summary on every search. Linked accounts are "Redacted" and data-breach results are "Counts only". The homepage FAQ adds that "some sensitive fields (passwords, full identity fields) are masked" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026).
  • Pro, $29 a month: "500 lookups / month", "Full unmasked results", data breach results, infostealer results, export, search history and API access.
  • Business, $149 a month: "5,000 lookups / month", 5 team seats, "API access (30 req/min)", batch jobs, shared history and priority support.
  • Enterprise, custom price: SSO, audit logs, continuous monitoring, webhooks, white-label PDF reports and a "24h SLA".

An annual billing switch is labelled "Save 17%". The annual prices themselves were not in the saved text EmailOSINT pricing page (saved 16 Oct 2026).

The free limits are stated inconsistently. The pricing page lists both "Unlimited lookups" and "3 lookups / day" on the same Free card EmailOSINT pricing page (saved 16 Oct 2026). The homepage says "No signup required" and "3 free lookups / day" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). The Free card says "Sign up and search as much as you want" EmailOSINT pricing page (saved 16 Oct 2026). The homepage also says the "Free tier comes with full API access" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026); the Free card does not list API access EmailOSINT pricing page (saved 16 Oct 2026). We report these as printed. The pages do not say which wording is current.

Is EmailOSINT legit? What we could and could not verify

We can't give a verdict either way. Here is what the public record shows on 16 October 2026.

  • Operator: neither saved page names a company or a person. The footer reads "© 2026 EmailOSINT" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026).
  • Legal pages: the footer links to Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Data removal, FCRA Disclaimer and Acceptable use pages EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). They were not saved, so we have not read them. We don't know what they say about the operator, data sources or retention.
  • Independent coverage: our web searches on 16 October 2026 found no independent review, news story or test of EmailOSINT. Search results for the name return general "email OSINT" articles.
  • Figures: "100+" sources, "40B+" records and "<5s" lookups are the vendor's numbers. We have not tested them.
  • Consistency: the free-tier wording conflicts in three places, as shown above.

None of this shows wrongdoing. It means a buyer has little outside evidence to go on. Before paying, read its Terms, Privacy Policy and data-removal page. Ask who operates it and where breach and infostealer data come from. The FAQ says "Sources are documented in the API reference" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026).

Why do infostealer data and AI profiles need extra care?

Infostealer logs hold live logins. An infostealer is malware that copies saved logins from an infected device. Have I Been Pwned describes stealer logs as collecting "email addresses, passwords and the website they're entered into at login" HIBP FAQs (checked 16 Oct 2026). EmailOSINT says it surfaces "origin URL, capture date, and credential" for an email, which it calls "Critical for ATO defense" (account-takeover defence) EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026).

That is useful to a defender and risky in other hands. A security team checking its own staff accounts can act on it, by resetting passwords. For anyone else, a working password belongs to another person. Signing in with it is the kind of "unauthorized access" EmailOSINT's own legal FAQ prohibits EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026).

AI summaries are leads, not findings. EmailOSINT says its model produces "a concise profile summary, a risk score (low / medium / high), and a one-line reason" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). It says the model "never adds facts that aren't in the underlying data" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). That is the vendor's claim; we have not tested it. Its own sample summary begins "Likely Alex Morgan" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026), so even the vendor frames the result as a probability. A summary can only be as good as the matches beneath it. Check each underlying account and breach entry before you rely on a name, a place or a risk label.

Why Max Intel doesn't offer password or credential lookups

Max Intel's tools are free and need no account, so we can't tell who is searching or why. Showing a password to anyone who types an address would hand working logins to strangers. Have I Been Pwned takes a similar line: when breached email addresses are loaded, "no corresponding passwords are loaded with them". Its FAQ says sending passwords to people "puts both them and myself at greater risk" HIBP FAQs (checked 16 Oct 2026). Paid tools with accounts make a different trade-off, and security teams do use this data. Our Email Lookup runs no credential search itself. Some of its breach-check links open outside services, which run under their own rules.

Which EmailOSINT alternative should you use?

Pick by the job, not by the longest feature list.

Can you use EmailOSINT for background checks?

Not for jobs, housing, credit or insurance. In the US, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) "protects information collected by consumer reporting agencies", such as credit bureaus and tenant screening services. Users of such reports "for credit, insurance, or employment purposes" must notify people when they take adverse action FTC, FCRA page (modified 23 Mar 2026). Don't use EmailOSINT, or any tool on this page, to screen a job applicant, tenant, borrower or insurance customer.

EmailOSINT's footer links to an "FCRA Disclaimer" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026); we could not read it. Its homepage pitches "Risk & compliance" for vetting "vendors and counterparties" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). Its legal FAQ bans using the platform "to harass, dox, or commit unauthorized access" EmailOSINT homepage (saved 16 Oct 2026). Our Is OSINT legal? guide covers the wider rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does EmailOSINT store the email addresses I look up?

EmailOSINT says free lookups made without an account are not stored against an account, and that signed-in users get a saved lookup history. It also says it never sells or shares search data. These are vendor statements; we could not read its privacy policy to check the details.

Can I get my data removed from EmailOSINT?

Its footer links to a Data removal page, but that page was not among those we could read, so we cannot describe the process. Whatever it says, change any exposed passwords and turn on two-factor sign-in.

Does EmailOSINT have an API?

Yes, according to its homepage: one endpoint for email lookups, returning JSON or a live event stream. Pro lists API access, and Business lists 30 requests a minute and 5 whitelisted IPs. The homepage says the free tier comes with full API access, but the Free plan card does not list it.

Does Have I Been Pwned show passwords?

No. Its FAQ says that when breached email addresses are loaded, no corresponding passwords are loaded with them, and it will not send people their exposed passwords. Its separate Pwned Passwords service checks whether an individual password has been seen in a data breach.

Can I check my own email for infostealer exposure for free?

Have I Been Pwned indexes stealer logs and stores the website domains each address appears against. Its FAQ says this is searchable through its notification service and a dedicated API. If your address shows up, change the passwords for those sites and scan the device you used for malware.

Does Holehe tell the person their email was checked?

Its README says it does not alert the target email. Holehe works through each site's forgotten-password function and tells you when you have been rate-limited. Sometimes it also returns partly hidden recovery emails or phone numbers.

Is Epieos free?

Epieos has a member plan at 0 euros a month covering Google, its Email Checker and Skype, with a heavy watermark; its button reads Sign in. The Osinter plan at 29.99 euros a month unlocks all modules, including LinkedIn, with 30 full-access requests a month.
